Announcement We are 600 strong!

Happy Saturday to all of you!

I wanted to share the news that yesterday, we crossed the 600 member mark. This is a proud and happy moment for me, personally, and I hope for all of you. We are by no means the largest but certainly are one of the friendliest planted aquarium forums and the only that is owned by a public charity with a public-good mission.

We are the same size as the town of Sherman, Mississippi in the USA. Nothing like a small community!

It seems when I open the site I've been seeing an uptick of new people announcements.
Maybe we can get Barr to mention the forum when he's answering questions on FB.

I wouldn't wish for that. There's so much bad info spread on the FB aquarium groups. I'd hate to see it spread here. That's why I spend far more time here now. There are a few good voices over there like Tom, Dennis, and a couple others but sometimes the amount of bad advice and bad science drowns the good stuff out.

It amazes me that Barr and Wong are still active on Facebook—talk about pouring water into a sieve . I’m pretty vocal about warning others how toxic IG and FB are for your health. I had a large following on IG, but I walked away once I realized just how those platforms are on every level.

I pretty much detest FB, IG etc. Apart form the fact its terribly chaotic compared to a structured forum like this one, as others have mentioned, most of the information is just random rubbish. I really don't understand why people use FB for groups when they can have access to wonderful forums like this.
