This is probably common knowledge for many experienced aquarists here, but thought I'd share anyway.
Last month, I discovered planaria had made their way into my 7 gallon shrimp tank. I've read planaria can do harm to shrimp so I began researching methods to eliminate them. No-Planaria was really well reviewed, but cost over $70 for 50g. Another product with mixed reviews was Safe-Guard (Fenbendazole) at half the price so of course, I went with that first. It did nothing. I then broke down and spent the money on No-Planaria. Within 24 hours of the first dose (.06g for 7 gallons) I saw loads of shriveled planaria huddled up on the glass in the corners near the top. Before that, I'd only seen 1-3 crawling on the glass at a time. I did a water change and a day or 2 later saw a couple more live ones so I dosed again. The next morning, I again had a bunch of dead planaria on the glass near the top of the tank so I did another water change. Haven't seen any more planaria since. Considering how low the dosage is, the 50g bag should last a very long time. I did remove nerites from that tank before dosing because this can potentially kill snails as well. Everything else in the tank was unaffected though, shrimp, plants, and even other tiny detritus creatures are all doing just fine. To help this better spread throughout the tank I mixed the powder with a bit of tank water in a small battery powered blender I use for mixing minerals for water changes. I then poured it into the tank at the outlet pipe to disperse quickly.
